Unable to endure the stress of her abusive stepfather in Texas, Celeste Lollar left home at the age 17 as a junior in high school. Coming to Jackson, Wyo., Lollar found two jobs, two roommates and was able to support herself while finishing up her final year of high school. Active in the school choir and editor of the school paper, along with a 30-hour workweek and full schedule of classes, Lollar beat the odds and graduated high school with honors. As a student Lollar garnered the utmost respect from many of her teachers and students for her achievements in the face of adversity.

Young Gun
Fifteen-year-old Sadie Cole has been hunting birds and rabbits with her father for the past four years, but this year, stepped up into the big-game league. While the rest of her classmates were cheering at the opening kick-off of their high school homecoming football game, Sadie lined up with 48 other youth to obtain their permit for the first-ever Youth Elk Hunt on the National Elk Refuge. While the youth hunt was introduced as a strategy to help cull the over population of elk summering on the refuge, to Sadie and her father Brad, it provided a moment in life that she will always remember.
